KR2 builder Wayne Hood passed away recently, having never flow the KR2 due to losing his medical. This left a Great Plains 2180cc VW engine in his basement. It has 46 hours of runtime on it. This was done over time, mounted to the KR2 and running in the driveway at various RPMs, just to keep it from rusting. Most recent run was four years ago, but it has been located in a garage ever since. As you can see from the photos, the engine is a dual-port, complete with a Great Plains "Force One" prop hub. Documentation indicates that it has a magneto on the aft end and also the GPASC "CompuFire) electronic ignition system on a Diehl case, along with dual plugs. Carburetor looks like a new Zenith. Also included is the oil cooler and oil filter adapter (presumably firewall mount), as well as a KR2 engine mount (also shown in the photos). This looks a be a totally complete firewall forward engine setup, as removed from the plane in running condition.
The engine is located in Lawrenceville, GA (west of Atlanta).
Asking $1200, and looks to be well worth it. This is the "come and get it price", in Lawrenceville GA (west of Atlanta). Email Wayne's wife Peggy at dwh4748@gmail.com. She has no way of packing and shipping it, so shipping is on you (or take the drive and pick it up, keeping in mind that it will weigh about 175 pounds). Two people can lift it though. It's sitting on a rolling dolly now, but you'll have to get it in your car.
