O-145 65 HP engines

O-145 Engines Available

From Doug Steen near Dallas/Ft. Worth (Tailwind/Cirrus/Bonanza/Luscombe guy who comes to many of the Gatherings).

As you know the Lycoming O-145, is lower weight than the Continental A65, fewer cubic inches and spins higher RPM to get 65 HP. It may be an attractive alternative for KR2s. I believe the only thing that has kept them from being installed in KR2s was a perceived limited supply. Well, the supply issue has been solved!

A dear friend passed away a couple of weeks ago and I am helping his widow, Gina Winfree to sell planes, engines, etc. I live directly across the street from the hangar home that includes the above engines and parts. Over the past couple of years, Don Winfree became a certified repair station for Lycoming O145 engines and probably bought up all of the inventory in the USA. You can see a few complete engines in the attached and there is at least one more complete engine that I did not get a photo of in the hangar and available for sale.. One engine was assembled of 100% brand new OEM parts painted as new and wrapped in plastic and two others were overhauled by my deceased friend, A&P and Mechanical Engineer, Sr Tech fellow from Lockheed Martin.

In addition to the above, and available for sale from Gina Winfree, his wife is a Piper Cub, Luscombe 8D and a Hatz Biplane, all of which qualify to be flown by a sport pilot and are beautiful. All three planes will have new annual/condition inspections within a few weeks. There is also a Piper Pacer, stripped down to bare fuselage with fabric off and unskinned wings with an O320 engine.

Not pictured is an engine built up last year totally from new old stock parts, however probably no logs. It is wrapped inside plastic.
